Dear Hans,
It is very interesting example.
Thank you for a new method.

Hello,
there is a way to select the line thickness of a \hl[n] command?
I want to use \hl[n] for a fillin space in a question/answer
document. The \fillinline, \fillinrules, ... are not good for my goal
because they extend the horizontal line until the end of the line. I
need several fillin
into ConText and
have them be usable.
Any ideas on how I can get ConText to split the lines and honor the righ
margin space?
There are two commands that do what you intend:
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Command/fillinline
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Command/fillinrules
If required
,topframe=on,leftframe=on,rulethickness=2pt,width=6cm,
align={flushleft}]
{ \fillinrules[n=1]{\bf Buyer's Signature: }} } {}
{
\framed[frame=off,topframe=on,leftframe=on,rulethickness=2pt,width=6cm,
align={flushleft}]
{ \fillinrules[n=1]{\bf Seller's
an empty pair of braces after each part of your combination:
\starttext
{ \switchtobodyfont[8pt]
\startcombination[2*1]
{
\framed[frame=off,topframe=on,leftframe=on,rulethickness=2pt,width=6cm,
align={flushleft}]
{ \fillinrules[n=1]{\bf Buyer's Signature
signature linr and the
right of the page for a Seller's signature.

{ \switchtobodyfont[8pt]
\startcombination[2*1]
{
\framed[frame=off,topframe=on,leftframe=on,rulethickness=2pt,width=6cm,

{ \fillinrules[n=1

it's more historically (very old commands) ; we can add an alias if needed
-column layour
output while the columns method does not.
However, your tabulate method is perfect fine especially if one needs
the output to cross page boundaries.
Any idea to make fillinrules behave like a list, i.e., with the indices
hanging to the left of equal sized rules?
Thanks for your help

The biggest problem is that the width is dependent on the longest

Now my script looks as follows:

Hello,
Maybe my previous mail was puzzled, let me put it simple.
How to achieve this, using \fillinrules or other command

Another thing are fillinrules:
can I define the look of the line? Now it is always a line, but I
want a thinner line or points. Like I can define in \setupunderbar
but in \setupfillinrules I did't find this option.
Hope somebody can help...
Big thanks

OK, just use tabulate instead of fillinrules. Thanks Hans!

Hello All,
Does anyone know if it is possible to have fillinrules with a
background color? It would be even better if I didn't have the rule,
just a gray background for example.
This is the effect I like to see:
